Astronauts

Astronauts are trained professionals who travel into space to conduct scientific research, perform experiments, and operate spacecraft or space missions. They undergo extensive training in various fields, including science, engineering, and physical fitness, to prepare for the challenging environment of outer space, which includes microgravity, radiation, and isolation. Astronauts may work for government space agencies, such as NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration) or ESA (European Space Agency), or private spaceflight companies. Their responsibilities often include piloting spacecraft, conducting extravehicular activities (spacewalks), and collaborating with scientists on Earth to gather data and carry out experiments that help expand our understanding of space and improve life on Earth.
