Social Learning

Social learning is a theory that emphasizes learning through observation and interaction with others. It posits that individuals acquire new behaviors, skills, and information by watching and imitating the actions of others, particularly in social contexts. This process involves not only the direct observation of behaviors but also the understanding of the outcomes of those behaviors, which influences whether an individual will replicate them. Social learning is often associated with the work of psychologist Albert Bandura, who highlighted the importance of modeling, imitation, and reinforcement in the learning process. Social learning can occur in various environments, including families, schools, and peer groups, and it plays a crucial role in cultural transmission and socialization.
